Eli Lilly and Company posted a 48 percent jump in revenue for the second quarter of 2026, powered by sustained demand for its blockbuster cardiometabolic treatments MOUNJARO and ZEPBOUND. The company also raised its full-year revenue and earnings guidance, signaling confidence that momentum will hold through the rest of the year.
Chair and Chief Executive Officer Dave Ricks said the company delivered growth across its core therapeutic areas, with sales of the two GLP-1 medicines leading the charge. He noted that manufacturing capacity expansions are starting to pay off, helping the company keep up with prescription volumes that have strained supply in prior periods.
Beyond the diabetes and obesity portfolio, Lilly saw solid contributions from its oncology and immunology drugs. Management highlighted progress in late-stage trials for several pipeline candidates, including an oral GLP-1 that could broaden the patient population beyond injectable therapies.
On the call, executives fielded questions about pricing pressure and competition from newer entrants in the weight-loss space. Ricks acknowledged the landscape is getting more crowded but argued that Lilly's data on cardiovascular outcomes and long-term safety gives it an edge with payers and physicians.
The company now expects full-year revenue in the range of $58 billion to $60 billion, up from its prior forecast. Adjusted earnings per share guidance was also lifted to between $22.50 and $23.50.
Shares moved higher in after-hours trading following the announcement.
