Meta's Muse AI teams up with Shopify, lifting its stock

Meta Platforms has introduced a new artificial intelligence agent called Muse that will work directly with Shopify to help consumers complete purchases online. The collaboration marks a significant step in Meta's ongoing push to integrate AI into everyday shopping experiences across its platforms.

The Muse agent is designed to assist users as they browse and buy products, streamlining the path from discovery to checkout. By joining forces with Shopify, Meta gains access to a vast network of merchants and product listings, while Shopify sellers gain exposure to Meta's massive user base. The arrangement could shorten the distance between seeing a product in a feed or ad and actually buying it.

The announcement gave Meta's stock a lift as investors reacted to the potential revenue opportunities tied to AI driven commerce. Analysts see the move as part of a broader race among tech giants to embed AI assistants into consumer transactions. Shopify also stands to benefit by deepening its reach into social and messaging based shopping.

The partnership reflects how AI is shifting from a novelty to a practical tool for retail. If Muse performs well, it could become a model for other AI shopping agents and change how people discover and purchase goods online.
