PRA Group outlined its strategy, operating trends and capital priorities during a company presentation, pointing to a favorable supply environment for non-performing loan portfolios along with ongoing cost reductions and technology investments.
Chief Executive Officer Martin Sjolund said the company continues to see strong supply in the market for non-performing loans, a trend that supports its core debt buying business. He noted that banks and other credit originators remain active sellers of charged-off accounts, giving PRA Group steady opportunities to acquire portfolios at what management considers attractive returns.
The company also discussed its efforts to trim operating expenses. Those cost cuts come as PRA Group invests in digital tools and data systems meant to improve collection efficiency and customer contact. Management framed the spending as a way to lower long term costs while handling rising volumes.
On capital allocation, PRA Group reaffirmed a $150 million share repurchase plan. The buyback signals confidence in cash flow and balance sheet strength, even as the company keeps funding portfolio purchases. Executives said they will balance debt reduction, buybacks and reinvestment in the business.
The presentation did not include new financial guidance. Shares traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker PRAA.
