Prospera Energy has secured a two-year extension on its senior term loan, pushing the maturity date from August 31, 2026, to August 31, 2028. The company confirmed the amendment on Friday, noting that the facility's total principal amount stands at $20,739,465. All other conditions of the loan remain unchanged, including the 12% annual interest rate and the schedule of monthly interest payments.
The extension gives the Calgary-based oil and gas producer more breathing room to manage its debt obligations while it continues to focus on production optimization and asset development. Prospera's management described the move as a straightforward step to align its capital structure with its operational timeline, avoiding the pressure of a near-term refinancing event.
In a separate but related adjustment, the company also announced a repricing of its equity financing. While the details of the repricing were not fully disclosed in the initial statement, the move is intended to make the equity component more attractive to investors, likely by lowering the conversion price or adjusting warrant terms tied to previous financing rounds. This dual action, extending debt while repricing equity, suggests a coordinated effort to stabilize the company's balance sheet without taking on new external debt.
Prospera continues to trade on the TSXV under the symbol PEI and on the OTC market as GXRFF. The company has not indicated any further changes to its capital structure at this time.
