Validus Risk Management has named Amy McIver as a principal within its Fund Finance Advisory team, a move that adds depth to the firm's work on financing structures for private capital managers.
The appointment signals continued demand for specialized advice on how private capital funds arrange and manage debt facilities. McIver steps into a role focused on helping clients navigate the complexities of fund-level borrowing, subscription lines, and other financing tools that have become central to private equity, private credit, and real estate strategies.
Her arrival comes as fund finance remains a closely watched area. Managers face pressure to optimize liquidity while keeping borrowing costs in check, and advisory teams are increasingly called on to structure facilities that match the pace of capital calls and distributions. Validus, which provides risk advisory and technology to private capital managers, has been building out this capability as competition for investor capital intensifies.
McIver's background is expected to support clients across multiple private capital strategies, from buyout funds to credit vehicles. The firm said her experience strengthens its ability to advise on financing arrangements that align with each fund's investment timeline and cash flow profile.
The hire reflects a broader trend of advisory firms investing in fund finance talent. As private markets grow, the need for guidance on leverage, covenant terms, and lender relationships has moved from a back-office concern to a strategic priority for general partners. Validus said the addition of McIver positions the team to meet that demand.
