MADISON - Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the combined state chamber and manufacturers' association, announced that Steve Mason has joined the organization as its new Director of Finance and Human Resources.
Mason brings more than two decades of experience in financial management and human resources operations to the role. He most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for a regional nonprofit, where he oversaw budgeting, accounting, and employee services. His background also includes leadership positions in the private sector, where he managed financial planning and compliance for mid-sized companies.
In his new position at WMC, Mason will be responsible for directing the association's financial strategy, managing internal budgets, and overseeing human resources functions. He will work closely with WMC's executive team to ensure the organization maintains strong fiscal discipline while supporting its growing staff.
"Steve's deep understanding of both finance and people operations makes him a perfect fit for this role," said WMC President and CEO Kurt Bauer in a statement. "His experience will help us continue to operate efficiently as we advocate for Wisconsin's business community."
Mason holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is a certified public accountant. He replaces the previous director, who retired after more than a decade with the organization.
