DigitalOcean Secures $725 Million in Equipment Financing Facility to Fund Capacity Expansion

DigitalOcean Holdings has secured a new $725 million equipment finance facility designed to expand its infrastructure capacity in response to rising customer demand. The company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker DOCN, announced the agreement on September 10, 2026.

The facility carries a maturity date of September 10, 2030. Beyond the initial amount, the agreement includes an accordion feature that allows DigitalOcean to increase the total by as much as $300 million. The company has signaled its intention to use that option.

The cloud provider positions itself as an AI-native platform built specifically for inference and agentic workloads. That focus has driven growing interest from customers who need computing resources tuned for artificial intelligence applications rather than general purpose tasks.

Equipment financing arrangements of this kind let technology companies acquire hardware and build out data center infrastructure without draining immediate cash reserves. For DigitalOcean, the move signals confidence that demand for its services will continue climbing in the years ahead.

The company has not disclosed specific details about where new capacity will be deployed or which customer segments are driving the expansion. However, the size of the facility and the extended maturity timeline suggest a long term commitment to scaling operations.

DigitalOcean serves developers, startups, and small to midsize businesses that want cloud computing without the complexity of larger enterprise platforms. The new financing gives the company room to grow its physical footprint as competition in the AI cloud space intensifies.
