Trading platform Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ:HOOD) released its third-quarter financial results on Tuesday after the market closed, showing growth in several areas even as crypto activity softened.
Robinhood reported third-quarter revenue of $1.424 billion, up 12% year over year. The figure topped the consensus estimate on Wall Street, helped by newer business lines that are becoming meaningful contributors to the top line.
Prediction markets stood out as a bright spot during the quarter, drawing in users who wanted to trade on event outcomes rather than traditional assets. The company also pointed to Trump accounts as another area of activity that helped balance out weaker crypto trading volumes. Crypto had been a major driver of results in prior periods, so the softer showing in that segment put more pressure on other parts of the business to perform.
The results suggest Robinhood's push to diversify beyond its original stock trading roots is gaining traction. Prediction markets and the accounts tied to the Trump name gave the company additional revenue streams at a time when digital asset trading cooled off.
Investors had been watching closely to see whether Robinhood could keep its momentum going after a strong run driven largely by crypto. The third-quarter numbers indicate the platform is finding ways to keep users engaged and generate revenue even when one segment loses steam.
